1. Acceptance of Terms
By using BetterMe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. Description of Service
BetterMe provides AI-assisted journaling, habit tracking, decision reflection, and spending-awareness tools for everyday personal organization and self-reflection.
The service includes:
- Event tracking (habits, decisions, spending logs, mood check-ins)
- AI-generated reflections, pattern summaries, and routine suggestions
- Visual summaries and trend analysis for personal review
3. No Professional Advice
BetterMe is not a medical, psychological, legal, or financial service.
The AI:
- Does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support
- Does not provide legal, investment, credit, tax, insurance, medical, or psychological advice
- Should not be relied on as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions
You should consult qualified professionals where appropriate.
4. AI Limitations
You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading
- Predictions and insights are probabilistic, not guarantees
- The system may misinterpret your inputs
BetterMe makes no warranties regarding accuracy or reliability.
5. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Your decisions and actions
- How you interpret and use AI outputs
- The accuracy of the information you provide
You agree not to rely solely on the AI for critical decisions.
6. Data Collection and Use
BetterMe collects and processes:
- User inputs (e.g., diary entries, decisions, habits)
- Structured behavioral data derived from AI processing
This data is used to:
- Provide insights and predictions
- Improve the service
- Personalize user experience
All data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.
7. Sensitive Data Disclaimer
You acknowledge that you may provide sensitive personal information.
By using the service, you consent to:
- Processing of this data by automated systems
- Storage of structured behavioral data
8. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features require a paid Premium upgrade. Pricing is shown before checkout in the app.
- Payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Yoco and supported app-store billing where applicable
- The current Better Me checkout uses one-time Premium payments and does not automatically renew charges from Better Me
- If recurring billing is introduced later, checkout wording and these Terms will be updated before recurring charges are enabled
- Refund requests may be submitted within 7 days by emailing support with your account email and payment reference
9. Crisis and Emergency Support
BetterMe is not an emergency response service and does not monitor user content for real-time intervention.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
BetterMe shall not be liable for:

Use of the service is at your own risk.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold BetterMe harmless from any claims arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your reliance on AI outputs
- Your violation of these Terms
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if:
- You violate these Terms
- You misuse the platform
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of changes.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, unless mandatory consumer laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.
